The La Conner Arts Commission is a public agency devoted to encouraging artistic expression and providing diverse, high quality public art for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.
Annual Special Events
The Arts Commission sponsors two important events each year in La Conner, the Sculpture Show and Art's Alive!
Annually, the Arts Commission selects new sculptures, on a competitive basis, and exhibits them on a walking tour throughout La Conner. These impressive works, on loan from sculptors around the Northwest, are for exhibit and for sale. The proceeds from sales are used to purchase public art for the Town of La Conner. "Crossing Point" in Kenmare Square; "Apple Tree" and "Spirit Wheel" near Maple Hall; and the "Fish Bridge", which serves as a gangway to a public dock on First Street, are examples of public art the Town owns. The Arts Commission manages La Conner's permanent collection of art and sculptures.

Art's Alive! is an annual celebration held early in November. Invitational artists display their work at Maple Center, and an open show is held in Maple Hall featuring exhibits from local La Conner artists. Businesses throughout La Conner feature artist's demonstrations during the entire weekend. All proceeds, after artist's commissions, are set aside to purchase art for the Town's permanent collection.

The La Conner Arts Commission meets the first Monday of each month at 9:00 am in the Civic Garden Club, 622 S. Second Street. The public is welcome to attend these meetings.
